Mahoroba no Tsuki

"Mahoroba no Tsuki" is a famous confection from Zenkoji, produced by Taiheido in Nagano City. Fitting its name, which means "Moon of the Blissful Place," it is a steamed bun baked with a whole chestnut enveloped in original chestnut paste. Large, fluffy chestnuts peek out from within the chestnut paste—an irresistible treat for chestnut lovers. It can be called Taiheido's pride, worthy of the title "Zenkoji Confectionery." With its moist dough and gently sweet chestnut paste, the flavor of chestnut spreads richly with every bite. It is enjoyed by all generations as a souvenir for Zenkoji pilgrimages. On your way back from your visit, please experience the essence of autumn in Shinshu.
