Ringo Otome (Apple Maiden)

'Ringo Otome' consists of thin slices of Shinshu-grown apples baked into a rice cracker dough. Produced by Matsuzawa, a confectionery manufacturer in Takamori Town, it is a snack with a light texture. They are committed to quality, with more than half of the ingredients being apples. They use various varieties such as Fuji, Shinano Sweet, Shinano Gold, and Kougyoku. A unique feature is the use of 'thinned apples'—apples removed during their growth process intended for fresh consumption—and the product has won numerous awards, including many years of three-star ratings in taste contests. It features a crisp apple texture and a subtle sweet aroma. The lightness of the thin cracker is pleasant, making it hard to stop at just one. It is an elegant piece packed with the essence of Shinshu.
