Honke Bairindo Ningyo-yaki (Chunky Red Bean)

Taking a bite of one freshly baked piece, the sweet aroma of fluffy dough tickles your nose. Inside is a generous amount of bean paste. Its gentle sweetness slowly melts in your mouth. Honke Bairindo is a long-established shop in Asakusa Nakamise, said to have been founded during the Kyoho era (1716–1736). The Ningyo-yaki shapes are modeled after Asakusa specialties such as Kaminarimon Gate, five-story pagodas, lanterns, and pigeons. Freshly baked using machines in the back of the shop, they have been loved by tourists for a long time. A representative souvenir of Asakusa with nearly 300 years of history. The simple, warm flavor is filled with the atmosphere of the old downtown. This Tokyo souvenir's gentle sweetness will warm even your heart.
