Gimonya Age-manju (Fried Manju)
With one bite, the outside is crispy and fragrant, while the inside is fluffy. The richness of the frying oil and the gentle sweetness of the smooth smooth bean paste overlap, making you instinctively reach for another. Gimonya is a specialty rice cracker (okaki) shop founded in Meguro in 1952. Utilizing techniques cultivated through fried rice crackers, this Age-manju was born in 1995. Artisans knead the dough by hand while sensing changes in temperature and humidity, delivering freshly fried products every day from their Tokyo headquarters factory. A fragrant fried taste achieved only because they are an okaki specialist. The classic smooth bean paste is a dish where the richness unique to fried sweets and Japanese elegance coexist. A perfect Tokyo souvenir to enjoy with warm tea.
