Kibindo Sohonten An-iri Ningyo-yaki (Black Bean Paste, Doll-shaped)

When you take a bite of one freshly baked, a fragrant sweet aroma rises from the fluffy dough. Inside is a generous amount of smooth red bean paste. The gentle sweetness spreads throughout your mouth. Kibindo Sohonten is a long-established shop in Asakusa, founded in 1890. The founder opened the shop after being captivated by kawara-senbei (tile crackers) at the National Exposition, later moving to Asakusa Kaminarimon. It is said that the shop's name originates from the fact that the residence of the wealthy merchant Kinokuniya Bunzaemon once stood here. The Ningyo-yaki are auspicious sweets shaped like the Seven Lucky Gods, such as Ebisu, Daikokuten, and Fukurokuju. An Asakusa specialty that has preserved its unchanging flavor for over 130 years. A warm Tokyo souvenir, with good fortune residing in every single piece.
