Akasaka Aono Kansha no Yorokochi Mochi

Soft mochi with a light dusting of kinako (roasted soybean flour). As you open the wrapper, a fragrant aroma rises, making it impossible to stop at just one. Akasaka Aono is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in Meiji 32 (1899), with over 120 years of history. Their signature "Akasaka Mochi" is a small, cloth-wrapped style mochi confection devised by the third-generation owner. The flavors of this shop have been nurtured through a history of serving the grand estates in the Akasaka area during the Meiji era. The combination of soft, stretchy mochi with fragrant kinako and elegant syrup is irresistible. The sweetness is subtle, offering a light taste that allows you to eat as many as you like. There is even an anecdote that Steve Jobs loved them. This is a representative Japanese sweet of Tokyo, filled with the spirit of downtown Tokyo.
