Ginza Kimuraya Sohonten Sakadane Anpan Sakura
When you split the fluffy, soft bread, a moist red bean paste is revealed. The subtle aroma of fermentation blends with the elegant sweetness of the bean paste, enveloping you in a nostalgic deliciousness. Kimuraya Sohonten's Sakadane Anpan was born in 1874. At that time, bread was hard and did not suit the Japanese palate; the founder, Heisaburo, turned to sake yeast used in sake making and invented this soft anpan. The following year, in 1875, a cherry blossom anpan containing salt-pickled Yae-zakura (double-flowered cherry blossoms) was presented to Emperor Meiji. Sakadane, born from rice and koji, is a unique Japanese fermentation starter. As the original ancestor of anpan, loved for nearly 150 years, this is a special souvenir that allows you to savor history and happiness in every bite.
