Ikebukuro Mihando Dai-Monaka
A generous amount of glossy bean paste inside a crispy, fragrant wafer. This is a magnificent, large-sized monaka that the long-established Ikebukuro shop, Mihando, takes great pride in. Mihando is a Japanese confectionery store founded in Ikebukuro in 1937. It is known as a shop frequently visited by the great literary figure Ranpo Edogawa, who lived nearby, and is an accomplished establishment that has received the Minister's Award at the National Wagashi Grand Exhibition. As its name suggests, the appeal of this 'Dai-Monaka' (Large Monaka) is its satisfyingly large size. The deliciousness of the fragrant wafer and carefully cooked bean paste spreads throughout your mouth. A rich harmony of wafer and paste that can only be experienced because of its large size. It is an item that will be appreciated both as a snack with tea and as a gift.
