Ueno Fugetsu-do Gaufre

Smooth cream is sandwiched between large, thinly baked circular wafers. After a crisp, light texture, the slightly sweet cream gently melts away. Ueno Fugetsu-do began in 1747 (Enkyo 4). The founder opened a confectionery shop in Edo with the thought, 'There are few delicious sweets in Edo. I want to create something that brings joy to people.' Our signature Gaufre was born in 1929 (Showa 4). Based on the 'Karlus Senbei' produced since the Meiji era, it is a representative confection of Fugetsu-do, created through the trial and error of skilled artisans. A traditional flavor passed down for over 270 years. This Western-style confectionery, born in Ueno, is loved across generations. Every time you open the tin, it evokes a sense of nostalgia.
