Sanda Confectionery Sanman-rokusen-goku

A famous confection from the castle town of Sanda, named after the historical rice production (kokudaka) of the Sanda Domain. During the Edo period, Sanda City in Hyogo Prefecture was a castle town ruled by the Kuki clan with a productivity of 36,000 koku. This "Sanman-rokusen-goku" is a representative Japanese sweet of Sanda, named after that very production level. It comes as an assortment of two types—white bean paste and yuzu bean paste—offering two different styles of elegant sweetness. This confection, which conveys the culture of the historic castle town to the present day, is characterized by its moist and gentle flavor. It is perfect with tea and is a delightful souvenir or memento of a visit to Sanda. It is an item full of Sanda's essence, meant to be savored slowly while feeling the weight of the history embedded in its name.
