Dojo-sukui Manju
The playful Hyottoko face is truly irresistible. This is Shimane's representative confection, 'Dojo-sukui Manju.' Its motif is the Hyottoko mask used in the 'Dojo-sukui dance' performed to the Yasugi-bushi folk song. Born in Yasugi, this sweet was designed by manga artist Hiroji Oba and has been beloved for over half a century due to its charming expression. In addition to the classic white bean paste, you can enjoy various other fillings such as matcha and strawberry. Today, it is a signature confection representing both Shimane and Tottori prefectures in the San'in region. It is a staple San'in souvenir that brings a smile to your face just by looking at it. Sharing them naturally spreads joy wherever they are given.
