Toki no Ko (Child of the Crested Ibis)

Round and perfectly shaped like an egg. This elegant Niigata confection features a crispy yolk paste wrapped in Momoyama-style baked dough and enveloped in melt-in-your-mouth white chocolate. "Toki no Ko" is a sweet shaped after the egg of the Crested Ibis (Toki), a Special Natural Monument living in Sado. Its adorable appearance has made it a staple Niigata souvenir. Produced by Kasho Takumiya, it is said that the production method was inherited in 2020 from the long-established Ametomo Shoten in Kamo City. In 2024, it was awarded a Gold Medal at the Monde Selection. Available in several varieties, including yolk paste and chestnut. Each gentle bite reflects the seasonal beauty of Niigata.
