Asahi Town is blessed with land characterized by significant temperature fluctuations brought about by the topography of the Iokawa Canyon and well-drained soil. In the 1960s and 70s, a group of dedicated individuals pioneered 'unbagging cultivation' (growing without protective bags), establishing this technique in Japan for the first time.
