Crux

"A one-of-a-kind sweet, neither Japanese nor Western" — this is Crux by Obama Shokuryo, a signature confection symbolizing Nagasaki. Since its release in 1964, it has continued to be loved as a standard souvenir from Nagasaki. It features ginger-flavored white chocolate sandwiched between thin, crispy wafer layers. By utilizing the techniques used for 'Yu-senpei' (baked rice crackers) made in our shop and changing the ingredients, we created a unique texture. The secret to its lingering deliciousness is the refreshing flavor of ginger harvested on the Shimabara Peninsula. It reportedly took two years to perfect. 'Crux' means 'cross' in Portuguese. It is a name reminiscent of Nagasaki, where Christian culture remains. Please enjoy its light texture.
