Sokaya Kankoro Mochi

A masterpiece that makes the traditional local flavor passed down since ancient times in the Goto Islands much easier to eat. Kankoro Mochi is made by pounding thinly sliced, sun-dried sweet potatoes (known as "kankoro") together with glutinous rice. Sokaya has shaped these into sticks so they can be easily eaten with one hand. The natural sweetness of the potato and the chewy texture are incredibly rustic and nostalgic. This snack is filled with the wisdom of island life, having been loved as a winter food preservative. It is delicious as is, but lightly toasting it enhances its fragrance and makes it even more tasty. It is an island-born snack with a gentle sweetness that brings comfort.
