Awaji Fig Chocolate
This chocolate confection is made by Nagate Choeido, a long-established shop on Awaji Island, using 'Awaji Island Figs' that have grown basking in abundant sunlight. Figs are preserved in red wine syrup to create a moist, semi-dried texture, then carefully coated one by one in Belgian chocolate by skilled artisans. Each piece captures the gentle sweetness of the fig, the crunchy texture of the seeds, and the mellow aroma of rich wine. An added charm is the ability to enjoy both white and bitter chocolate varieties in a single box. This is a seasonal delight available from autumn to spring when figs are in season. Alongside its sister product, the Orange Stick, it is a flavor Awaji Island is proud of.
