Otome Mochi
A soft mochi confection with a lovely name, fitting for the opera city of Takarazuka. Crafted by Kineya, a Japanese confectionery shop in Takarazuka, Otome Mochi was born in the first year of the Showa era (1926). It is said that its name was inspired by the Takarrazuka Revue superstar, Otome Amatsu. This fresh sweet consists of mochi made by carefully kneading glutinous rice flour and millet flour in a steam kiln, generously coated with specially selected kinako (roasted soybean flour). Its simple flavor, free from additives, has been loved for over 90 years. The fragrant aroma of the kinako harmonizes beautifully with the soft texture of the freshly pounded-style mochi. It is an ideal souvenir for Takarazuka theatergoers to enjoy while lingering in the afterglow of a performance.
