Kinsen-yaki
A mochi confection inspired by the 'Kinsen' (Golden Spring) of Arima, one of Japan's oldest hot springs. Produced by Kinsendo of Arima Onsen, this new Arima specialty was developed over approximately five years to evoke the image of Arima's famous 'Kinsen' spring, which is deep brown and rich in iron. It features a fragrant, soy-sauce flavored dough enveloping smooth red bean paste. The subtle saltiness of the soy sauce combined with the gentle sweetness of the bean paste creates an addictive sweet and savory balance. Eating it while warm further enhances its aromatic qualities. This is a unique Arima souvenir to be enjoyed alongside the atmosphere of rising hot spring steam.
