Kamiya Seika Salted Yokan

A famous confection of Banshu, featuring a sweet and salty flavor that becomes addictive thanks to a subtle hint of Akō salt. Produced by Kamiya Seika Honpo, a Japanese confectionery shop in Akō founded in 1967. Akō, known for the story of the 47 Ronin (Chushingura), has long been famous as a salt-producing region, and confectionery making using that salt is deeply rooted in the land. By adding just a touch of salt, the sweetness of the adzuki beans is enhanced, resulting in a crisp aftertaste. This is a traditional stick-type yokan, and savoring it slice by slice is truly exceptional. The exquisite balance of sweetness and saltiness is something you'll want to enjoy slowly with warm tea. Please try it as a companion to your memories of traveling through Banshu.
