Eirakudo Gotako Manju
An incredibly auspicious manju shaped like the famous octopus of Akashi. As the name 'Gotako Manju' (Many Happiness Manju) suggests, this item is filled with wishes for much happiness. Eirakudo's octopus sweets uniquely feature five legs. This is said to be the shop's playful nod to an old legend from Akashi, where a mischievous giant octopus was reformed by a samurai. White bean paste and black beans are wrapped in soft castella dough, and the character for 'happiness' (幸) is clearly marked on its back. With its cute appearance and heartwarming, gentle flavor, please take one of these fortune-bringing treats as a souvenir from Akashi.
