Meigetsudo Mikino-sato
A cute Japanese confection shaped like a sake jar, reflecting the culture of Miki, a renowned sake-producing region. Miki City in Hyogo Prefecture is a major production area for Yamada Nishiki, the sake rice that supports the famous Nada breweries. As a land that nurtures high-quality sake rice, it has shared deep ties with sake brewing since ancient times. Meigetsudo's 'Mikino-sato' was created in connection with this sake culture. Legend has it that when Empress Jingu visited, the locals presented her with sake placed in a jar, which she called 'miki' (sake jar), giving rise to the place name. This elegant treat features white bean paste with a gentle hint of yuzu aroma, wrapped in a moist baked skin. It is a confection that allows you to quietly savor the history and stories of Miki.
