Ashida Seika Inoshishi Monaka
A humorous monaka (wafer sandwich) inspired by the famous Botan Nabe (wild boar hot pot) of Tanba-Sasayama. Tanba-Sasayama is known as a premier destination for 'Botan Nabe' using wild boar meat. During the cold season, wild boar meat is beautifully arranged like peony flowers in a miso-based hot pot, attracting many visitors. Drawing from this wild boar culture, Ashida Seika created this adorable monaka shaped like a wild boar. The plump shape of the boar is full of charm, and it is generously filled with elegantly sweet bean paste. The pairing of the fragrant, crispy wafer shell and the smooth bean paste is outstanding. It is a playful treat that allows you to take home a fun piece of Tanba-Sasayama.
