Kashitoshi Sakamoto Heso Manju
A slightly unique manju (steamed bun) born from the 'Navel of Japan.' In Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, there is a point where 135 degrees East longitude and 3ASS 35 degrees North latitude intersect; following a discovery in the Taisho era, the city has long been promoted as the 'Navel of Japan.' Inspired by this navel, local Japanese confectionery shop Kashitoshi Sakamoto created this Heso Manju. Its shape is adorable, with a depression in the center to resemble a navel, and the combination of cinnamon-flavored bean paste and slightly firm dough creates a nostalgic flavor. It is a quintessential 'navel souvenir' and perfect as a conversation starter. A simple and warm manju that truly represents Nishiwaki.
