Juchheim Baum Set (Plain & Chocolate)
An assortment of Baumkuchen that carries on the tradition of Juchheim, the long-established bakery that first baked Baumkuchen in Japan. You can enjoy two varieties: Plain and Chocolate. The founder, Karl Juchheim, was a German pastry chef who came to Japan as a prisoner of war during World War I. It is said that he baked the first Baumkuchen in Hiroshima in 1919 (Taisho 8). Later, following the Great Kanto Earthquake, he moved to Kobe, which became the location of the main store. With a beautiful cross-section resembling annual tree rings created by many layers of baking, the moist cake melts in your mouth. Please enjoy this traditional taste that has been passed down for over 100 years.
