Produced by Akihodo, this treat was once long loved by locals as 'Matsubishi Manju' within the Matsubishi Department Store. Following the closure of the department store, the shop moved in 2002, renamed itself 'Castella Manju,' and made a fresh comeback. Smooth white bean paste made from white kidney beans is wrapped plumply in moist, gentle castella dough. While not flashy, it offers a simple sweetness that provides comfort with every bite.
