Boso Confectionery Kamata's Tai Senbei (Sea Bream Rice Crackers)
A gentle curve shaped like a leaping sea bream. When bitten with its firm, crispy texture, it crumbles delicately in the mouth, spreading a gentle sweetness of egg—Kamata's Tai Senbei is a nostalgic specialty of Boso. This kawara-senbei (tile-shaped cracker) is made by combining high-quality flour and sugar with plenty of fresh eggs, topped with poppy seeds and baked to a fragrant finish. Its auspicious, gently curved shape was inspired by 'Tai no Ura,' a place in Minamiboso known for its sea bream. You'll find yourself reaching for another one after just one piece with tea. The transition from a firm bite to a melting texture, combined with a nostalgic and simple sweetness, is truly addictive.
